C’est à crier tellement c’est bleu Third solo exhibition at Circus, Berlin
In her new exhibition, Sophie Bueno-Boutellier transforms the gallery space into a site of quiet intensity. The title, “C’est à crier tellement c’est bleu” (It’s enough to scream, it’s so blue), borrowed from Marguerite Duras, evokes a form of emotional saturation—an austere clarity that borders on the unbearable. As often in her work, the literary reference is not illustrative but intuitive—a poetic alignment, a way into the unseen.
At the heart of the space, a large plaster platform unfolds a minimal landscape composed of delicate colored plaster modules, faint traces of paint, and a palm branch. White dominates, but it is the blue, rare and restrained, that asserts itself. A blue that doesn’t overwhelm but resonates—like a whisper suspended in silence.
With this exhibition, Sophie Bueno-Boutellier continues her exploration of how to summon presence through emptiness. Each element seems to weigh as little as possible while maintaining a palpable physical and mental density. This is not a narrative, nor a demonstration, but a space to let things happen, where the economy of means edges into something spiritual or meditative.
The installation is also a score—a slow choreography in which material breathes, gesture dissolves. Between painting, sculpture, and installation, Bueno-Boutellier composes a space of inner resonance, where the gaze both rests and sharpens.
“C’est à crier tellement c’est bleu” is an invitation to dwell in sparseness, to listen to thresholds, to be quietly moved by the almost-nothing.
